Oil Tubing is pipe used for the transportation of crude oil and natural gas from an oil or gas layer to the surface after drilling is complete. Tubing pipe is made to withstand the pressure generated from the extraction process. Tubing pipe is manufactured in the same way as casing, except that an additional process known as “upsetting” is applied to thicken the pipes.
The tubing has different thread type, such as NUE tubing pipe and EUE tubing pipe. API non-upset (NUE) tubing is put to use much less than EUE tubing.
The cost of NUE is usually just a bit less than EUE, along with the joint strength is substantially less. The coupling joint diameter of NUE is less than EUE, which provides certain benefits in cases where clearance is small.
